Internet as a modern and the strongest weapon of propaganda.

March, 21 – Hilary Clinton openly claims that the United States used, use and will continue to use different social network and different other projects of alike to lay informational support (actually read: to control and coordinate activities) to oppositional democratic movements all over the world ("informational" support of alike we can now see in Libya and Syria...).

May, 16 – The Obama’s administration adopts and launches "the U.S. Strategy for Cyberspace", especially stressing the need in the same social network development and underlining its modern role in democracy promotion (remember ‘promo’ actions in Tunis and Egypt...)

June, 7 – UN declares Internet Access to be a basic Human Right that disconnecting people form internet now is a human rights violation and turns to be against the international laws.

Well, considering the extreme lightness with which American propagandists manage recently to pull their propagandist wool over the eyes of people all over the world (recent striking examples are the Northern Africa and the Middle East), practically now we see the situation through which the US day by day receive all the needed them conditions to hold so called "colour" revolution in any country of this world, as the initiative will be undoubtedly supported on behalf of thousands manipulated and warmed-up in cyberspace youths. And practically now they need just you to log in....

@Keri45,
The Internet as a propaganda tool should not be surprising to anyone at all. The US is by no means the only one doing this. Not only are all governments involved in this (or soon to be involved in this), the general population at large is actively involved in spreading bogus information of all types.

Product manufacturers lie about their products (bend the truth to sell them). Astrologers and psychics actively farm the delusions of the general public to sell their snake oil. Religions spin their stories and herd their flocks. And crackpots of every ilk spill their wretched stories with bewildering frequency, some to sell their ideas and others just to be heard.

Accurate and functional information is becoming a rare commodity in the information super cesspool. The process of scientific methodology remains the best filter for separating the information wheat from the information chaff, but even that methodology is under attack on various fronts.
