@sozobe,
I don't really know....if all is well, towards the end of the day, I guess. I have to say, I go into panic mode whenever I see the vet is calling me.npoor thing, my voice always sounds so anxious I probably scare her!

Now STAY PUT already!

Of coursem Sebastian has an upset tummy right now, just to freak me!

@Roberta,
Too busy at work to say anything......but

SHE DOESN'T HAVE FIP!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

SHES HOME!

If she stays better she CAN STAY HOME!

Not out of the woods but vet has hope she might recover!!!!!!!!

Vet and nurse came running out to greet me....dancing and hugging and squealing that she doesn't have fip.

She just got home and has started eating.

I'm gonna faint.

@dlowan,
Did I mention she fought like a tiger to get out of the carrier and yelled all the way home?

So what does the vet think has caused her to be so ill?

This is the very BEST thing I've heard all day!
So happy for you, possum.
Oh wow. Smile

@msolga,
They're really wondering about meningitis because of her neuro symptoms.

As I speak she's on my lap and kind of twitchy and jerky.

Eyes are wide and pupils expanded.....last time, she really began to relax after about five hours..we will see. Still on major meds. Crossed fingers and fumbs.

They are both on my lap!

@dlowan,
Just Googled "meningitis & cats".
Pretty serious condition.
Just as well you got her to the vet's right away!
Will she be OK at home while you're at work?

Anyway, you sound very pleased with yourself tonight, Deb.
Two cats on your lap! Smile
I hope Viola is starting to relax a bit more now.

@dlowan,
OH WOW!

I know that non-FIP doesn't necessarily mean all is well, but that is HUGE and wonderful.

Here are the pictures you sent of the lovelies:

It's not the most important aspect of this episode, but I'm curious: Is Viola still panicky when you drive her to the doctor's? Or does she now see it as a place where nice people cuddle with her and make her feel better when she's sick?

Home! Not FIP! Wonderful news.

Now they gotta figure out what it is. Put an end to it.

Not turning off my hoper yet, but I'm happy for the three of you. Big time.

Every time I see pictures of Viola and Sebastian, they remind me of Bast, the ancient Egyptian cat-goddess--same rangy build, same regal posture and gaze, same triangular head and big ears. I don't know how her semi-divine descendants got to Cornwall but they must have--the Phoenicians went there for tin ore, maybe the Egyptians did too. She probably felt the outpouring of hope for her great-great-many times great-granddaughter and wrapped her loving paws around her, and around those wonderful vets too.

Ah, here's the picture of Bast I was originally trying to post. Do you think Viola would like a pierced ear in thanks to t he goddess? She would look good in a golden earring.

So very very glad to hear there's hope.
