When people draw lots they use straws; the person getting the short one is the loser.

As for PNG, (a computer image file format) I thought it was the abbreviation for "Portable Network Graphics", but it seems this is sometimes given as "Portable Net Graphics".

I thought it might be Papua New Guinea (New) maybe someone else can clarify?

You're right carrottop, that's what I got as well, although the other answer may well be right, it is not a term used in crosswords. Papua New Guinea is what Lovatts meant because the question has come up before.

Thanks Dutchy i've gone for Paupa New Guinea and keep my fingers crossed.
By the way i saw the answer for the little butter cryptic question and it was kid!!!!!

Contrex the clue does say PNG all in caps so i assume it is for Papua New Guinea i have never heard of the other one that has come up but then again i not not that computer minded so i would not know if it would be in caps ot not

If it was all in caps then that fact is part of the clue and it should have been typed that way in the question which started the thread.
