WikiLeaks nominated for Nobel Peace Prize.
.
Whistle blowers should be rewarded and free speech should be defended. Bradley Manning should be included in the Nobel Peace Prize.

WikiLeaks nominated for Nobel Peace Prize.
.
After a Tuesday deadline to submit nominees for the Nobel Peace Prize, Norwegian parliamentarian Snorre Valen announced he had entered WikiLeaks as a candidate for the prestigious award.
Nominations can be handed in by members of national assemblies and governments of states, members of international courts, university professors and directors of peace and foreign policy institutes.
.
WikiLeaks' work exposing government secrets has earned it the enmity of countries around the world, especially the US. However, Valen told Deutsche Welle, and that WikiLeaks therefore deserved the Nobel prize for contributing to world peace.
"One instance is the exposure of the corruption in Tunisia, where [ousted president Zine El Abidine] Ben Ali, the dictator, was exposed," Valen said. "That contributed, in a small part, to the fall of a more than 24-year-long regime."

@noinipo,
We already know anyone can win one, so it's not surprising that Wikileaks would be nominated

@noinipo,
I enjoy this. I'm waiting for a theatrical production/film re all the sturm and drang. Starring some swedish blondes and myriad others. Think of the orchestral possibilities.

They gave it to him based on the work he did as a Senator on nuclear proliferation issues. But don't let that get in the way of your ignorant hating on them.

Well, a multitude of things. But in this case, the reasons behind why they gave the award to him.

I'm sure they could care less about your disdain.

@OmSigDAVID,
A smidgen. That is, if they are even aware of it.

I highly doubt that the Nobel Peace Prize committee gives a **** what the haters of the world think about their project. You are immaterial to them.

Wikileaks was nominated by ONE member of the Norwegian parliament. In 1939, a Norwegian parliament member nominated Hitler for the peace prize.

The Nobel committee itself keeps nominees secret. However, the person making the nomination is free to talk to the press if he wants publicity.

@wandeljw,
You are right, so far it is one man. Let's see what develops.
Kissinger and Arafat won, say no more.

You don't have an inquiring mind. You have a mind that has been shuttered for years.
