Theoretically, what is the fastest speed a Maglev system could move an object?

I'm not talking about moving a full-sized passenger train.... Just any physical object. Since the object is "magnetically levitated" and the forward movement of the object is based on the electronically controlled turning on and off of magnets which pull the object forward, I would think the speed of the object would only be limited by the speed of the controller turning on and off the magnets.
