Here's how this works. Nominate your favorite tv show for the position of greatest tv show ever. They can be current shows, or old ones. I'll make a poll with the most common nominations.

My nominations...

The Practice

Smallville

The Daily Show with Jon Stewart

Simpsons

Scrubs

Family Guy

----------Secondary Nominations (will only matter in tie breakers)----------

Buffy the Vampire Slayer

Friends

The Shield

Fraiser

All in the Family- a breakthrough show. Dealt with subjects that were not touched by TV producers in the past.

Seinfeld- Proved that a show about nothing could be absolutely hilarious.

Law & Order- After 13 years, proves that a show on the same subject can remain consistently fascinating. It is a lesson for other producers of "cop" shows, that illustrates that it is the story line that makes a show fresh and interesting.

Law & Order SVU- Same as L&O. It has not been on as long as L&O, but it contains the same elements as the other show.....strong story line, not too much involvement with individual characters (although there IS more of that than on the original L&O, the characters definitely remain in the background.)

God yes, L&O must have been on crack to forget these Wolf show(s)...and yes the Soprano's though my cable is shut off, and the brilliant Six Feet Under.
I hated All in the Family when it first came out cause my Dad watched it, he didn't get the humor, he was a bigger bigot than Archie...so, now in retrospect it was a great show!

The Sopranos. IMO this is the best ever.

All in the Family. The best sitcom.

I have to think about other nominees. I'll be back.

Yeah I was thinking about All in the Family as a distant 2nd to the Sopranos. Also up there are, Friends, the Simpsons, and Three's Company.

Most overrated show of all time... Sienfeld.

I only vaguely remember this one, did the viewer ever find out why Patrick Mc Goohan was a prisoner?
