Turns out my goatheads are slightly different than I said they were, latin name wise and also, mine have more puncturing points but none of them as standout as in the photo that shows up if you search Tribulus terrestris.

@ossobuco,
For what it's worth, one sprouted and bloomed this week. The usual date is May 31, if there's enough moisture for germination.
