@soozoo,
Doesn't that depend on how often you drop the soap while showering?

@11angie11,
Why would you want to do what everyone else is doing? Especially if you know that what they are doing is wrong and/or destructive to their well-being? Just be yourself. If you have to do what everyone else is doing in order to be popular with them, then your aren't really being popular. You're simply buying friends using a different kind of currency. It's not worth it.

When it comes to conformity, my main problem is that everyone is ******* stupid. At first I might be like, "Hey, I should do what that guy is doing." But soon after I think, "No, he's a massive chode, and I don't want to be a massive chode." And so I simply continue down my own rad path.

@CoastalRat,
Yeah I agree - depends on what you consider being popular. Having lots of "friends" that really are not going to be there when you really need them. Do you want to be able to hang around with alot of "cool" kids that are doing things you are not interested in and do not like.

I can't imagine (unless you really like doing those things) that you would enjoy being with them any way. What fun are you going to have if you doing things you don't think are right?

Granted my girls are younger than you - but they both have lots of friends. My youngest is very popular - she is invited to all the birthday parties even the boys. She has her own mind and lets others know about when she disapproves of things or if someone is being mean to another. I tell her (and I believe it) that she is popular because she is kind and considerate of everyone.

You may be popular amongst that group of people, but is popularity something you want?

If you hang around kids in the choir, you are eventually going to sing.

In other words, if you hang with kids who drink and do drugs, that's what you will become. A drug user and a drinker.

You will have to decide if that's what you want to be.

Going about, all the while studying what everybody else is doing so you can then follow? Sometimes others will point out something about you that is different from everybody else. Would you change it to match what they do/wear/? I've never heard of this. Seems that would result in all those doing the same thing knowing what you'd be up to. Or, something like that. 'Tis better to stand out.

@11angie11,
I think that would be labeled as copycat. Rather if you follow your own rule and set your goal you would be popular.
