I think pornography is based on reality but creates an imaginary version of it that speaks to our senses, promising their gratification in a different, and often unrealistic way. I am not sure it is purely physiological because the mind has to be turned on first for the sake of the body being turned on second. I think the response is so quick that we miss its origin in the mind and attribute the whole thing to the physical aspect.

Pornography is reality as a toys or a way to relieve yourself or even some couples might get turn on by watching pornography together. A lot of people thing of porn as a bad thing, and they are in part right and wrong. I try to compare it to alcohol. alcohol kills many life every year but also give a good time to many other, yet alcohol is not a taboo subject at all! Porn on is like alcohol cuz it's a stimulus that gives pleasure but nobody gets kill by it. You get to see fantasies you would not be able to see otherwise, but be careful that it does not take over and make you believe that sex will be like the porn you see. It can give erotic idea to a couples or great satisfaction to a single man or women, but also raise the expectation from your partner. Draw a line that put porn as a toys like sexy lingerie and your sex life as the real "reality".

porn is bad if you expect your sex life to be JUST like what you see on tv. You will never be satisfied, never be happy and always spend your life expecting yourself and those with you to live up to unrealistic expectations.

if you realize it is just an alteration to tantalize your fantasies, and it is just for FUN, it should be ok.
