It is heartening that Facebook is being used to offer support to the victim of the gang rape in Canada.

Thousands offer support for victim of alleged gang rape

Date: Sunday Sep. 19, 2010

A 16-year-old girl who was allegedly gang raped in B.C. last weekend is receiving an outpouring of support on the same website where hurtful comments and pictures of the attack began circulating days earlier.

Mounties believe the girl was sexually assaulted by as many as seven men at a teen rave party in Pitt Meadows on Sept. 10. Photos of the incident were uploaded to Facebook, where users posted comments alleging the girl "asked for it" and branding her a "complete slut."

But others have come forward to offer kind words, and a group called "Support for 16yr old victim in Pitt Meadows" had gathered more than 2,950 members by Sunday afternoon.

"That which dose not kill us makes us stronger," Chrissy Rombough-Morgan wrote. "Show them how strong you can be."

"Every morning when the sun rises you will awaken a stronger woman, and find courage and a dignity within yourself that you never knew you had," Angele Reynolds added.

But even in the support group, some have chosen to ignite debates about whether the teen girl consented.

"All we have is a rape kit, which can have varying results depending on the nature of the sex," Kelly King said in a group discussion. "You are all jumping to conclusions … you are all ready to serve up innocent people without any proof."

Police have adamantly denied such allegations. Insp. Derren Lench told reporters at a Friday press conference that "it's very clear from her physical injuries and her recollection of it and the evidence that we've collected that she was not a willing participant."

"It's very clear she was raped by more than one individual and there was no consent at all."

Police also believe the girl was under the influence of drugs, but are awaiting the results of a toxicology report.

Meanwhile, authorities have been desperately trying to have the photos – which constitute child pornography -- scrubbed from the internet.

They have been collaborating with technical crime experts in Ottawa and Facebook staff directly, but say there's an uphill battle ahead and the photos may remain on the internet forever. http://www.ctvbc.ctv.ca/servlet/an/local/CTVNews/20100919/bc_rape_support_100919/20100919?hub=BritishColumbiaHome

Non-misogynists are not allowed to possess the Secret Decoder Ring which allows his posts to be translated into coherent English. Laughing True women-haters, like Silly Billy and Gawky Hawky, meet in their man caves to drink Drunk and swap stories about these lying females and evil feminists Evil or Very Mad who are out to destroy men. Then they compare their favorite Internet porn sites--the kind with the most debasing photos of women. And, in a great, time-honored tradition, they end their meetings with a good pissing contest while thumping on their chests.
And these dimwits wonder why no one else considers them "real men"...Laughing

Man gets 11 to 30 years in prison for raping college student
Monday, September 20, 2010
The Associated Press

A Moon man has been sentenced to 11 to 30 years in state prison for raping and trying to kill a Robert Morris University student at an off-campus townhouse last year.

Damiola Adewale, 24, pleaded guilty in June to attacking the 20-year-old woman in June 2009 in Moon.

Mr. Adewale had dropped out of the university months before the attack. Authorities said he choked the woman with a computer cable and his hands until she lost consciousness. They also said he documented his plans for the attack in two notebooks.

Allegheny County Judge Jill Rangos on Thursday sentenced Mr. Adewale to consecutive sentences of six to 15 years for attempted homicide and five to 15 years for rape. Mr. Adewale apologized for his actions, saying he was "disgusted with myself and ashamed."

@firefly,
Well, looks like he cooked his own goose in more ways then one. He could have gotten a lighter sentence but no, he's gonna deny he did it. Okay, then pay for it I say. I don't think 100 years is enough. A three year old child? Lord have mercy. That poor child! I cannot imagine the horror for her. The 9 and 17 year olds must have suffered the same horror but a three year old would not understand a single bit of what was happening! This is truly a sick man to do such a thing.

Considering there are pictures of the attack of the girl in Canada, I don't think anyone is jumping to any conclusion about their guilt, do you? Seems pretty cut and dried to me.

I have some catching up to do! I didn't realize there were two pages of posts. Y'all wait for me! LOL

He documented his plans for the attack? This is what BTK did. He called them projects. Thank God they are both off the streets!

@firefly,
It seems the community was pretty up in arms about this and was taking it up with the school. Below is a quote from something sent to the school. I will see what other information I can find on this. It seems this happened some years ago but I'd be very interested in knowing what the outcome was.

Quote:
http://parents.berkeley.edu/current/Willard.html

On Wed., Oct. 25 a developmentally disabled 12-year old girl was "kidnapped
and raped" by seven male students from Willard. Apparently, the attack began
on the Willard campus and then moved to 11 other locations and lasted for 5
hours. Most of this info came from a SF Chronicle article in today's East
Bay section p. A27.

Quote:
Are we surprised at the Willard incident? A student body that idolizes
pimps will find it easy to produce individuals willing to rape a
developmentally disabled 12-year old.

Here is a link to an article about one of the boys involved in the rape: I am having a hard time finding a lot of info because most of it has been taken off for some reason (outdated I suppose).

He would probably have to get her drunk first.

Gosh Bill, Ouch!!!! I had no idea that I was even close to being that one bright female out there who could echo your views and therefore-ever after be considered the one lone single rational female who marches lock step with our great lamp of illumination, Mr. Bill. Hell if I knew I was in a contest I would have thrown all those gals under the bus. But seriously, Bill (may I call you Bill?), I think you may have me confused with somebody who actually gives a damn. Where in your fevered imagination did you ever get the idea that only people who agree with everything you say or think are the true thinkers.

I log in from time to time just to see what's going on. When I first saw this thread, I just growned and ignored it. Couldn't stomach what I knew would be here. But did I listen to myself???? noooooooooooooo. And once I started to read the nonsense, I found myself responding. I'm not a law maker and neither are you, but if you feel strongly about punishing all the women who have 50% innocent men in prison, I suggest you start with your Congressman, or Senator. Currently there are laws that punish perjury, and I wholehardedly agree that women who give false testimony against a man to deprive him of his freedom, should suffer consequences. But, our judiciary judges those accused of crimes and we don't get to freelance on what punishment we think is adequate.

As to how I am viewed on this forum, surely you are smoking dope. I don't give a good goddamn if any of the participants think I'm bright. And bunky, if you are looking for affirmation of your intellect, online forums are not the place. If, however, someone was insulted by something I write that I didn't mean to be insulting, I always make an attempt to make it right. If they are insulted and that's what I had in mind....mission accomplished.

God help any of us if we are looking for confirmation out here in the ether. Go read a book.
