Fun fact:
George Washington wasn't the 1st presidedt of the USA but the 8th (he was the 1st president of the Fedaration, thus the confusion). The 1st president of the USA (and the Confedracy) was in fact John Hanson, who alone shares the honor of being elected with 100% of the vote with Washington.

Because he "liberated our country", supposedly. Through violence. And John Hanson wasn't the first.
