Hi
Has anyone seen Bertolucci's new film The Dreamers? Eva Green, one of the three stars is absolutely beautiful. She has a face and body that you can only dream of (see clever reference to film title..)
It's also a brilliantly made film with a classic soundtrack. Go and see, if only for Eva Green. A star in the making.

Thanks Gujon - I've read about the film and it sounds very interesting.
Welcome to A2K!
US cuts of the Dreamer
Hi mac
Thanks for the welcoming!
I see you're from Houston.....I believe that the US distributors are planning to make an awful lot of cuts to the US version of The Dreamer. This is really bad news. I don't understand the hypocracy of the US when it comes to censorship......It is OK to show someone blown up/tortured/mutilated in a film, but not intimate parts of the body or bodily functions. On the other hand, you have the biggest porn industry in the world. This doesn't make sense to me
......
I hope they don't do that to the Candian release. It sounds interesting.
Oh, and I completely agree with you regarding the hypocrisy of the US film industry.
The policies for anything in the US are suppose to make sense? Gaawwww!
I would imagine the DVD version of the film will be left intact -- I don't know why any editing is performed on a theatrical release and then it makes it into DVD other than they want to give more access to the film in theaters because of the rating system.
DVD releases
I fully agree sabout the inconsistency of censorship of DVD and theatrical. It's stupid. People are more likely to take scenes out of context while watching on DVD, where as in the theatre you watch through the whole film - not just the erotic parts or whatever. (This is not to mean that the DVD versions should be censored either)
