Makes sense - if you want access to more guns, start an anti-violence group and have guns turned in to you. What may have happened in this case is that his homeys knew he had access to weapons and the pressured him to turn the guns over to them.

I read about that awhile ago. He was getting money from the Feds for his anti gun group and then selling guns on the black market. Good times.

I'm surprised he didn't apply for a government grant.
