Hmmm.. I have a lot of white pines in my yard and most of the pinecones that drop from them ooze considerable amounts of pine pitch. That'd be pretty nasty if it got on whatever you were shipping.

I suppose if they were in a plastic bag or something...

Yep. Put the gift in a ziplock bag, then pile on the pinecones. Sounds like a spiffy idea to me!!!

They can be a bit sticky - that's for sure. A baggie would probably do the trick.

Bagfulls of cones don't weigh that much, and I get pretty good shipping rates because I ship thousands of pounds a stuff a year so any increase in cost would be negligable.

I might give it a try on a couple of smaller items just to see how it goes.
