two camels and a cup of tea-i cry
much too easily these days.
one old man leading them with a twisted rope
of jute as they glide through the needle's eye.
what a marvellous beast! with big flat feet
and fur enough to make more
paintbrushes than anyone could ever need.
they dont drink water even in the heat.
there are too many signs I cant deny;
the sob when a donkey brays,
branches of trees that reach to heaven in hope
of sun and rain from the sustaining sky.
chipmunks watch children playing in the street,
sometimes come inside my door.
tea workers don't earn enough money to feed
their families; how can it taste so sweet?
@salima,
Very nice, excellent visuals produce an well-communicated mood.
@salima,
Outstanding Salima. Simply outstanding. You have said more in 16 lines than many of us can say in 16 pages.
@salima,
It rhymes well and says a lot. Excellent poem.
