Baking brownies is one of the easiest things you can do in the kitchen. Most recipes have fewer than 10 ingredients, and the instructions are simple " measure, mix, bake.

Well, not if you're baking for the Pentagon. The latest viral sensation to hit the Internet is a 26-page document laying out all the rules and regulations you need to follow to bake appropriate treats for our men and women in uniform.

Penny Karas, owner and executive pastry chef of Hello Cupcake in Washington, D.C., measures a finished batch of brownies. The recipe states that military-specification brownies should not be cut larger than 3 1/2 inches by 2 1/2 inches by 5/8 inch.

If you choose to bake them on your own:

When I say jump, that brownie better ask "how high?"

A

That's "Sir, how high? Sir."

According to the radio story, the brownies tasted awful. So I wonder how bad the failures from this recipe taste. Embarrassed

Then again, a hippie version of these brownies could actually keep those who eat them from getting drafted (urine test required after consumption of course).

@tsarstepan,
I didn't look at the recipe. Last brownies I made were wonderful, though they wouldn't have caused test failures.

The one bowl brownie recipe makes the best brownies I have ever made . . . I have had some that are better.

With 25 pages, the brownies had been be the Alice B. Toklas kind!
