djjd62 forgot to mention one VERY important thing about 'Kingdom' - the title character is played by Stephen Fry. Reason enough to watch it!

I would think most people in the English speaking world with good TV channels would have seen - or at least heard of - Doc Martin (starring Martin Clunes).
