@plainoldme,
Common People.

My Chemical Romance seem just like a bunch of rich kids who are copying a song, which is probably just about right.
The band is tight, but the singer is shouting for dramatic effect, rather than subtly letting the story unfold. Totally devoid of humour, irony and sarcasm.

Give me storytelling over shouty amateur dramatics any day.

Here is the original Pulp version, just in case you've never heard it....

@Lordyaswas,
Not necessarily better then Tom Petty's original version but I still love this version I just heard this morning:

John Mayer - Free Fallin' (Live at the Nokia Theatre)

@tsarstepan,
It's a gorgeous song.

I think I'd even like the Vienna Boys Choir version

@jespah,
Is the guy on the right playing a chihuahua or is it a Jack Russell Terrier?

@plainoldme,
Looks mostly Chihuahuan. The cover is a definite improvement over the original. Full disclosure: Not a fan of pop R&B du jour

@tsarstepan,
By pop r&b du jour, do you mean that stuff with all the vocal runs?
