@msolga,
May I slip this one in, MsO--a sweet little number by Debbie Reynolds -
For A Very Special Reason, so old perhaps it's new to most here. Never mind the youtube visual...

Carry on.

MsOlga, have a listen to one of the loveliest works of music around, Dvorak's
Symphony No. 8 in G;this passage of the second movement at 15:39, in particular.

Okay: on to a different format.

Where were you, Ms. Olga, when Jo Stafford's
On London Bridge saturated the airwaves -the Far East Network's, that is, which would be,oh, around 1957 or so?

@neko nomad,
Where was I, neko?
I was in primary school, probably in an over-crowded classroom. Along with all the other baby boomers, cluttering up the place wherever we went.
Where were you?

Thanks for posting that.
I've never heard it before.
Nice.

My generation
(oh, the guitars, the equipment! Shocked ) :

@msolga,
lol You know, Msolga, ther's scant info out there on that song,
and it now seems that AFRS was a demo outlet for artists' work
that have disappeared into obscurity. But for me it's a bookmark
for a week's R&R in Tokyo back in the summer of '57, with a couple
of buddies from Korea.

@neko nomad,
So what did you 3 get up to on that week's leave, neko?
If it's OK to ask?

@msolga,
Back then a PFC's pay didn't get you far in
one of the world's most expensive cities. Our room
and board were on the house, as were sightseeing tours
by bus. Did check out the nightlife,though:a good time was had by all.

@neko nomad,
Is that one of your old photographs from Tokyo, neko?
If so, which one are you?

@msolga,
Heh -heh...I'm not in the picture, MsO;I took it from inside a
bus. Just a glimpse of the backdrop of that pop song. I wonder if
anyone elde here remembers it.

Heard this yesterday, while stuck in a traffic jam coming home, caused a day of very wet, wild & woolly weather all over Melbourne.
The ABC presenter played this to calm us all down & be patient as we all crawled our way home. Smile
Nice.
It worked!

@neko nomad,
... And here's a hard-to-find version of the theme from the movie Summer Place, from 1959, by Hugo Winterhalter , but got little air time: it's my favorite, though.
