LAKELAND | A suspect arrested on Thursday in a Fort Myers homicide may also be behind the 2009 slaying of a woman found suffocated in downtown Lakeland, police said.
Reginald Reonard Riggins, 33, was arrested outside a Greyhound bus station in St. Petersburg, according to Fort Myers police.
Lakeland police suspect Riggins killed Shawn Hazel Turk, 34, who was found suffocated the morning of April 15, 2009, behind the Amtrak station at 600 E. Main St.....

On July 9, 2005, then 21-year-old Clifton Lamar Williams broke into the home of a 93-year-old Cecilia Schneider and beat and stabbed her to death.
The medical examiner testified that there was also evidence of strangulation. Williams placed the victim's body on a bed and set the victim's body and the bed on fire.

When he feared they would snitch on him, Keene was involved in the silencing of two acquaintances who knew too much: Wendy Cottrill, 16, and Marvin Washington, 18. Washington was shot by co-conspirator DeMarcus Smith. Keene’s girlfriend, Laura Taylor, killed a sixth victim, Richmond Maddox, 19. The crimes spanned Dec. 24-26, 1992 and were known as the "Christmas Killings."......

DAYTONA BEACH, Fla. -- A man hired to care for a 67-year-old woman hit her and forced her to withdraw money from a bank, the Volusia County Sheriff's Office said Friday.
Darren Sanders, 33, was arrested and taken to the Volusia County Jail in connection with the incident.
Deputies said Sanders was hired to help Renee Tucker, of Daytona Beach, but on Thursday she said he took her to a bank and forced her to take out thousands of dollars. Bank employees got concerned and called deputies.......

MURFREESBORO, Tenn. – Police have arrested a suspect they believe was responsible for the shooting death of a 17-year-old boy at a Murfreesboro car wash.
Nicholas Wade, age 29, was arrested by officers with the Murfreesboro Police Department and U.S. Marshals without incident at the Saddlebrook Apartments. He was taken to the police department for questioning and to be officially booked.
The shooting happened around 8:10 p.m. last Friday at the National Car Wash Express on South Rutherford Boulevard. Police said the body of a 17-year-old Kevin Knotts was found inside a car in one of the stalls.....

Randolph Ney was found murdered inside his home on July 15th.
At the time, detectives identified Raphael Hamilton as a person of interest, but their investigation ultimately led to Hamilton's arrest as a suspect......

HAYWARD – The trial for an alleged satanic thrill killer in Sawyer County is delayed another six months.
Christopher Roalson’s jury trial would have started today.
Instead, he fired his fourth public defender and was assigned another.
Roalson is accused of stabbing 94–year–old Irena Roszak to death in her home in 2009.
His jury trial now starts on January 30th, 2012.

BROOKLYN PARK, Minn. (WCCO) – An 18-year-old man is charged with second-degree murder and aggravated robbery in the fatal shooting of a 17-year-old girl.
Kivian Heard, and a juvenile suspect, turned themselves into police on July 9 and were taken into custody. According to the criminal complaint, police responded to a call of shots fired on July 7 near the Huntington Apartment complex in Brooklyn Park.
Upon arrival, they found 17-year-old Jennifer Scott, of Champlin, shot to death. Authorities said Scott died of a gunshot wound to the head.
An autopsy also revealed blunt force trauma to the back of her head and over her right temple.

NASHVILLE, TN (WSMV-AP) - Three people are charged with the kidnapping and rape of four women from Lawrence County who had been visiting downtown Nashville last month.
Police said the four women were kidnapped after leaving a downtown nightclub at 2:30 a.m. June 5. They were taken to a residence on Claiborne Street and all were raped over the course of a few hours, officers said.
Charged are 23-year-old Jesse L. Roberts, Williams A. Burns and Jeremiah Daniels, both 17, all from Nashville. A fourth suspect is being sought.....

Philadelphia police arrested three juveniles and a 19-year-old on assault, reckless endangerment and robbery charges after a rampaging mob struck the Center City area, causing minor injuries to two people, according to police.
The youngest of the juveniles to be arrested is 11, according to Officer Christine O'Brien. The others are 16 and 17; none of them are being identified because of their age.......

GULFPORT -- A man charged with murder in a fatal stabbing at Buddy’s Inn Lounge in Gulfport has pleaded guilty to the lesser charge of manslaughter.
Carl Vincent Tucker, 45, of Bay St. Louis faces up to 20 years in prison. He will be sentenced Sept. 6.
Tucker pleaded guilty Friday in the slaying of Charles Kirschenheuter Jr., who was stabbed seven times in a fight in the lounge parking lot on June 27, 2010,......

8th District detectives took down Joseph Ceasar, 32, last week (11.9.10) for a robbery 4 days earlier in the 900 block of Gov. Nicholls Street.
In that incident, 3 older white women, two 58 and one 64 years old, were walking on Gov. Nicholls Street around 1:10 a.m. when a dark-colored 4-door sedan stopped next to them and a black guy got out, pulled a pistol, and demanded their money. The women gamely refused, but the robber grabbed one woman's purse from her shoulder and fled in the car on Gov. Nicholls toward the river.....

Saturday, October 27, 2007 was the day of Rowan University's Homecoming. Thousands of students, alumni, and family members were present to take place in the festivities and watch the football game.
With that many people around, it was a day that the campus should have felt safe.

But around 9:15 that night, things had taken a turn for the worse. Donald Farrell, a 19-year-old sophomore at the university, was walking near the campus with some friends when they were confronted by a group of four or five men.
Donald was struck twice in the head and once in the body before his wallet and cell phone were stolen and the group of men ran off.
Donald's injuries proved to be too severe, and he passed away on Sunday afternoon....

22 year old Alfred Marina has been sentenced to fifty years in prison for his role in the death of the UAB student, a twenty year old psychology major.
21 year old Maurice McCarty was the triggerman who shot Fanaei as she sat in her car in a parking lot at Glen Iris Elementary School on October 8, 2007.
Prosecutors prosecutors say Marina and a third defendant, Greg Hill, acted as lookouts......
