I'm watching on the telly yet another shooter (Orlando Fla) news says 8 victims taken to hospital.

my "enlightened" solution is for everyone to determine who might become a potential shooter and kill them before they are able to harm anyone. Does my sarcasm equate adequately to yours?

yeah, that's what makes it a challenge. I've identified 3 of my neighbors, one grocery store clerk and an employee of the Dept of motor vehicles.

I can see justification to own a gun. What I don't get is the gun worship; the need to own the assault rifles and whatever else one can get, beyond the normal need to protect oneself.

There are many countries, though, where this isn't the case. I am so thankful I live in one of those countries.

When any punk or idiot like David can get a gun as easily as they can a McDonald's hamburger, I can see where people feel the need to have one for protection. I personally don't have one.

U have it turned around backward, Jane.
Guns are lifesaving emergency equipment, in whose absence
the victims perish, in the capricious discretion of violent predators, be thay human or not.

The simple idea is that WE, the GOOD GUYS, want the victims
to control the emergencies, whereas the supporters of gun control
want the BAD GUYS to control emergencies.

Its all a question of WHO has the greater power.
I support the victims.
