i need help with my rainsoft it wont stop regenerating

i pushed the manual regeneration button on the machine outside as we moved into the new place and teh water in the tank was nastey so i wasnt sure what to do so i pushed it , bad mistake as it hasnt shut off now for over 24hrs any suggestions.... my hubby is ready to disconnect it completely from the house and we need it lol so plz if anyone has any suggestions before it burns up our pump...
