In a Canadian first = the first heart surgery in utero in the world was carried out in a Canadian?

Heart Surgery in Utero

In a Canadian first, a team of doctors at The Hospital for Sick Children(SickKids) and Mount Sinai Hospital successfully performed life-saving heart surgery on a baby still in her mother's womb.

It's the first time such medical procedure was performed in Canada.

It looks like the first time that procedure in the history of surgery was performed was in a Boston hospital in 2006.
