Law and order criminal intent premiered in 2001
I've just watched an episode of it in which Raul Julia appeared.
Riddle, Raul Julia died in 1994

There is no limit of time
between the filming of a movie and its premier to an audience.

True David but in 94 Law & Order was in it's infancy and starred Paul Sorvino and Chris Noth, then several changes in the line up.

Then Special Victims Unit came along and after a few years Criminal Intent With Raul Julia which must have been made shortly after the original Law & Order was first aired.

Why would they be making C.I. at a time when they didn't yet know whether the original L&O would be a success or not

The chronology doesn't seem right ?

Or, it was the episode where a poster of him -- from the 1990 movie "The Rookie" -- appeared:

I guess anything is possible,
but I can t answer, for paucity of information.

In theory, a movie filmed in the silent era
with Charlie Chaplin n Rudolph Valentino,
but never released by the studio
could be released to the public next week
( tho I don 't know whether those 2 ever worked together or not ).
