Very Happy

Much more fun than using the escalator! I want some piano stairs to play on, too!

That would never work in the US... some numbskull would freak out about the wires and the bomb squad would be called. This would result in the a debate about whether the people who did this were simply idiots, or dangerous criminals.

After all 9/11 showed us we can't afford fun.

I saw that a bit ago and loved it, and still love the general concept. (Make people WANT to do good rather than threatening them or whapping them over the head with it.)

The novelty factor kind of bothered me though. I mean, would people continue to have fun with it the 50th time they used the stairs? Or would they tune it out (pun intended) and go back to their usual ways?

The "test" didn't seem long-term enough to be really meaningful. People like novelty.

Still, the video itself is cool...

(Just checking back in...)

I wondered about the novelty thing too, sozobe. There's a video clip of a garbage can experiment that is even more gimicky -- although it occurs to me that it would really appeal to young children and if you can get them started on NOT littering when they're young the concept would hopefully stick. (That's the video with the tall blue cylinder to the right of this clip.)

I wasn't sure I believed it - in that I'd expect some cacaphonous periods in the time span of the video so that I started to think the music was an effect of choreographed dance or nifty editing. But I didn't check it out further and could easily be wrong.
On the other hand, I still like the idea anyway, even if there would be some discord in the sounds.
