It seems the metal block/target is liquefying on impact.

I was kind of interested in seeing that as well. The heat upon impact must be huge. I am sure there are physicists here who could lend credence to that. I noticed the lead in the bullets melting a lot and some bullets seemed to have a harder substance that opened like a flower bloom upon impact. That would make quite a mess.
