In the glade,
When first I saw the leaves come tumbling down

She rode in with her regal cavalcade,
Wearing golden rod, her bright and shinning crown

She made a hazy sky with just one look,
And turned the thistles to a whirling mass,

The ripened apples fell in every nook,
And grapes turned purple even as she passed.

Breath-taking photo's, dj. I especially like the reflection of the trees in the water, and the splash of the colour red. Thanks, buddy. I'll keep looking at every one

Thank you, Tai Chi. Full color below the falls is hypnotic.

I wrote that poem when I was just a kid wandering the the beauty of Virginia.

Fall came in on cue, wet, rainy and cool. If this morning's front could be kissed, I would get in line to plant one.

Mother nature sure knows how to make an entrance. What a gorgeous poem.

What an optimist. Letty sees the falling leaves and writes a poem. I see the cottonwoods turning yellow and say "Here comes winter".

it's that time of year when we need the cooler on in the afternoon and the heat on at night.

It's also the time of year when you always know how to dress in the morning - when you're too far from home for it to matter.

Ah, the guys are pragmatic, and the ladies do poetry.

Thanks to all for your input, however.

There's a song that autumn sings to you,
It's a song of golden sheaves,

While the earth is resting dreamily
Neath a tapestry of leaves

Oh, the song that autumn sings to you,
Is a song of golden sheaves.

I said hello to Autumn and goodbye to my Dave.

the eddy in your stream of life
Is waning.
Once again, I don't know what to do.
In my soul there is a place that's raining
maelstroms of a circle edged in blue.

I still know that you were called to be here,
A purpose with that gentle mind of yours,
The color of your eyes are yet retrieving
The heraldry of those who've gone before.
Tenderness and genius were your burden
That you have carried right up to the end,
the world may never know that you have been here,
but the least of these will sense they've lost a friend.

my deepest sympathies, miss letty.

Do not stand at my grave and weep,
I am not there, I do not sleep.
I am in a thousand winds that blow,
I am the softly falling snow.
I am the gentle showers of rain,
I am the fields of ripening grain.
I am in the morning hush,
I am in the graceful rush
Of beautiful birds in circling flight,
I am the starshine of the night.
I am in the flowers that bloom,
I am in a quiet room.
I am in the birds that sing,
I am in each lovely thing.
Do not stand at my grave and cry,
I am not there. I do not die.
