If I was to build a wind turbine would concrete work for the base?

Usually it has to be it.

It involves a lot of calculation to determine the amount of concrete needed.

Parameters like the height and the weight, but also the surface exposed to the wind of your tower, come into play.

Also the dimension and the weight of the turbine.

And probably there's standards or norms in your place that you need to take into account.

They have a mandatory resistance of the works at a given wind speed.
