SAN FRANCISCO (MarketWatch) -- Porsche Automobil Holding said Tuesday that U.S. August sales rose 9% to 1,526 vehicles from a year ago. Sales of Porsche's 911 model jumped 92% to 673 vehicles from 351 last year. Laughing

Desperate times call for desperate measures, I'm sure they offered some price cuts for the ultra-wealthy who were holding back.

More likely because last year was a really, really bad year for autos.
