The brake pad sensor on my sons 300D started coming on so we had a tire store change the pads. Now the light is on all the time and the brakes don't seem to be stopping the car very well.

Sounds to me like they put the wrong pads on. Mercedes should be handled by a dealer and not a one-size-fits-all repair shop.

Driving this car may be an offense and also invalidate the insurance since you actually know the brakes don't work too well. An accident might be very expensive.
