Ironside with Raymond Burr as the wheelchair-bound sleuth
The Mod Squad - Pete, July and Linc were"one white, one black, and one blond" teenagers who go undercover for the LAPD
The Man from U.N.C.L.E. - Napoleon and Ilya are two secret agents against the evil underworld
Mission Impossible - Peter Graves and "Good morning, Mr Phelps"
Columbo - I LOVED Peter Falk as Lt Columbo - am presently buying the whole series on DVD

the list goes on and on - I was definitely a youngster whose face was sucked up into the idiot box...

@snood,
"The Man from U.N.C.L.E." the coolest show, EVER.

That really makes me feel nostalgic.

@George,
Absolutely right. Steve McQueen got his start as bounty hunter Josh Randall on an obscure western called Trackdown. And, speaking of Robert Culp, lert's not forget I Spy with Bill Cosby playing second banana to Culp's tennis-playing secret agent.

@edgarblythe,
True, true - and wasn't that announced just today.

The bonus with dancing with the stars is you also get to employ has been athletes and singers and we even get the bonus of reality stars which we didn't have before.

Bonus with the has been stars in the Love Boat day was there was also Fantasy Island and often times the same star would come back time and time again - sometimes as different people - seemed the worse the acted, the more times they got to re-appear (Charo for instance was on it seemed at 30 times).

Ran across this while looking for something else... I sure do miss this show. This strings together the opening montage from two seasons. The montage always included bits from each episode. Watching it makes me want to watch them all again.
