My left nipple erects when I eat something spicy. It's only really during the first couple of forkfuls, then it gets used to it.
So biologically, evolutionarily, neurologically why does this happen?

It makes me laugh too. And is a fantastic party trick. I get a little "shirt tent" everytime I take a shot of curry. Can be embarrassing sometimes. It only started when I hit twenty. Someone must know why!???
Increase blood flow causes nipples to become hard (or erect)
