Playstation 2 problem

Recently I dusted off my Playstaion 2 and started playing some old games, mostly Gran Turismo 3, which work perfectly. I tried to play Gran Turismo 4 but it didn't work. Fair enough I thought, it has been a while so I sort of expected it to happen to some games. I have bought Gran Turismo 4 twice now and neither of them work either. Both were brand new. When I try and play them it just says that there is a disc read error.

Anyone have a clue what I can do to fix it?

P.S - Gran Turismo 4 used to work without fail a few years ago.
