I would like to recommend Inside of a Dog by Alexandra Horowitz. I have been reading it off and on for the last few days and greatly enjoying it. The title is from Groucho Marx: Outside of a dog, a book is man's best friend; inside of a dog, it's too dark to read.l

I read that book twice since I bought the paperback a couple of years ago. I highly second your recommendation.
