I done a painting of fish with a dark greenish /blue backround.I want to put a glaze over it to simulate that they are underwater.Any suggestions?

Is it watercolor, acrylic or oil? There are a variety of glossy and matte finishes you can purchase at your loccal art or craft stores. I'm not sure which would give you the effect you are looking for, though.

Take your painting in to an art store and ask them.
