Awesome. Interestingly, although I'm the right age, I don't remember a single one of these specific ads. I wonder if any of 'em could be phony?

don't know, i remember as a kid seeing the hathaway eye patch guy in ads

Oh, yeah, the eye patch was standard Hathaway. I remember that. Not that particular ad but the guy with the eye patch was all over the place. No, I'm talking about some of the more outrageous ones, are they for real?

(The eye patch was for Hathaway what the tattooed cowboy was for Marlboro cigs.)

I remember the Love's Baby Soft ad. Someone in the comments section thinks the model is Brook Sheilds - could be.

Who knew Lysol could save marriages? I would be happy if my husband just used it to clean the toilet.

So I don't get why the guy wants to murder the woman over a Pitney Bowes postage meter. You stick the envelope in and pull the lever, no big trick.

Shocked

Wow, those ads are just downright weird! Never seen them before, either.

I like this idea for a topic. Nothing like a bit of nostalgia to bring out the old farts in the closet. Wink

I once bought about 350 issues of Life magazine...which I lost in a storage fiasco.

One of my fave covers...
