The children are playing happily under/in the sun.

Which is the correct preposition?

The usual preposition in BrE and AmE would be "in".

Again, Ms Tan, 'correct' is an inappropriate word for this situation and I'm happy to see that Contrex never fell into that trap, noting that 'in' is the usual, the normal neutral.
