I've no idea on how much if any of this is any more than artists' conceptions; I'd rule out the airplane with the battleship turret and the plane attacking the flying saucer apriori, but the rest of the images are interesting to say the least.

As was learned in WWII, there were fighters , and there were targets. I think this thing would make a wonderful target.

The version in the picture appears to be a heavier than air version of a zeppelin, and not a warplane. Other than that, the bulk of the German fighters which were lost in WW-II were shot down by B-17s.

and ALL the b-17s were shot down by enemy fighters.
