I believe the exhibit was about post-nuclear japan , or about the atomic age. The painting i'm looking for was part of a set. It was a standing turtle(i think) breathing fire to "it's" left, our right .

I was surprised when I Googled images how many fire breathing turtles popped up. It must be a somewhat common motif in Japan. I have no idea if this is the image you are talking about (and I doubt it), but I thought it was rather interesting. Are you looking to buy the paintings or just identify the artist?:
