Career in the gutter.

I got out of the military with my wife and daughter in February, a choice my wife and myself made.

We chose to do this because already previously serving a year in Iraq from 07-08, I got back November 28th 2007. A couple months into 2008 I found out we'd be deploying to Afghanistan in 2009. My wife and I couldn't handle the stress of one more, then another planned a year after that.

So I get out of the military, I have 7 interviews lined up, go to each of them, then get no call back. Even when I call them they say they're not hiring. I've been unemployed until present. I put in about 70 applications a week (At the very least), yet still no job at all.

This is bringing my confidence to an abrupt halt. Anything anyone can say to help?

This sucks. You deserve better for your sacrifice but all I can say to you is join the club.
How did you get out of the military? If you were honorably discharged, you should qualify for major govt. assistance if you're so inclined to start your own business. I'd definitely look into that if I were you. That's how dreams come true kiddo. Set yourself free. If you had your choice of any businesses to own and operate, what would it be?

Great point about being eligible for assistance.

I was just going to say, it's a rough time for job hunters, across the board. I have a cousin who just graduated from college with a good degree, who is genuinely excited about maybe getting a job at Pizza Hut.

What branch of the military?
What was your MOS?

Where did you last serve stateside?
Where do you want to live?
How does your MOS transfer to the civilian world?

These are all questions you must answer before you find another job.
And I say that after having served 24 years in the military.

I was in the army.
I was a 92y(Unit Supply Specialist)

I never really served stateside. Right after airborne school I got stationed in Alaska, a month after that I deployed for a year. Got back in November of 2007. Got out of the army in February 09.

My MOS transfers as shipping/receiving warehouse clerk

And I live in Vancouver, WA, right across the bridge from Portland, OR.

It's just pretty ridiculous. After my first post I went to an interview at a night club. I got a job as security. So lol I don't have anything to complain about for the moment.
