I think that it is a handy feaure. Like Rog, I usually put the word games on "ignore". I think that type of thread has a following, and I just happen not to be one of them. Nothing wrong with word games though, if that is your "thing".

I only have 2 members on "ignore". One was somebody with such a chip on his shoulder, that no matter how I tried in the past, I could not help this person to be less hostile.

The other is a member who is such a "johnny one note", that the posts that were written were boringly predictable. BTW, I happen to like this person, but could not deal with the constant pontificating.

as for the view, i can't do it for that either, i must have an ocd of some kind, but it makes the screen look uneven

I dont have anyone on ignore. It isent that much trouble to scan all posts and pay attention to the ones that have something of value to add. And I dont think there is a rule that says I have to answer a post that is downright stupid.

I don't have anybody on ignore. Even those who I almost always disagree with, at times, have something intelligent to add.

I vote down topics that I have absolutely no interest in reading. Not many, but some.

Haha, I draw strength from it. I love it.

I guess I'm sort of a sadist - I also love that fear smell Law students get right before the exams I run for them. That panic look in their eyes. It makes me want to hunt something with a spear and take a good long time running it down.

I don't put anyone on ignore, but there are several people whom i do ignore. Come on, guys, if you can't ignore them in the good old-fashioned way, how much help is the electronic gimmick gonna be for you? Aren't you ever tempted to look anyway? Occasionally, although very rarely, i start to read the post of someone whom i have chosen to ignore. It immediately becomes obvious to me, and i stop reading the post. I started to read a post by the Possum just the other day, and stopped right away, thought "Hmm, he was gone for a while, and now he's back--so he must not have been banned." Then i commented that since the Possum had shown up, that thread was f*cked, and i left.

It's easy guys, if someone is a shithook, just don't read their posts.

yep. ya did, and it was. and coincidentally, the thing that you mentioned is the only one i've ever put on ignore. just too frakkin' weird, inane and plain creepy for me.
