We have a 9 yr old rainsoft Q2 system. In the last month we noticed that the water isn't soft any more. I check the salt and is was caked at the bottem...I cleaned it all out, regenerated and waited a couple of days and still no soft water. Any help would be appreciated!

the most common things that I'd replace are the orings on the piston , and the brine injector assembly, but there are other things to look at also. . is there any water in the brine tank ? when you do the regen does it start by counting down in step 5? is this a well or city water ?
