US DECLARES A SWINE FLU EMERGENCY

Reply Mon 27 Apr, 2009 05:12 am
The word pandemic has been used as about 20 cases of swine flu have been reported in the US. Many more are reported in Mexico and it looks like Mexico is the HQ of this new "global scare".

This will set back any hope for a rapid economic rebound as the world begins to divert its attention to a "plague".
Yesterday all I was worried about was whether I had a SHAM WOW and whether my penis was too damn big. TODAY ITS ARMEGEDDON I TELL YOU. Locusts, Plagues of swine, unclean things raining from the sky in Australia, extinction of paw paw trees. Im goin to church!

OH YEH heres a link to the NYT article in this AMs paper

One confirmed case in Ohio. So far the U.S. cases seem relatively mild.

I'm vacillating a bit between "eh" and "oh shit."

I recall Gerald Ford freakin' out over the Swine Flu thing, so I took the shot. I became so ill, that I really thought that I was going to die. Some folks can handle vaccines; some cannot.

I think fresco's article is missing the point: flu can get English-speaking white people! We must be vigilant.

Actually it's good. Everyone will poop and puke for a week and then have a better chance of surviving the next "big" one.

Let's have a toast to viruses, our ancient and worthy opponents.

The only thing that scares me is the prospect of Spendi being the only survivor left on A2K. I foresee an endless series of "user ignored" messages on every thread I read.

That's it. I'm dumping my GM stock. We're going to be overrun with used cars because of this flu thing.

Of course, it won't affect CEO pay because they can afford Theraflu.
