You betcha! I had tears coming out of my eyes. She's a sensation we're only beginning to hear about, but we're going to be seeing her on American tv shows very soon.

On a similar note, do you all remember when, on the same show several years ago, some fat bad toothed British cellphone salesman came on and sang Nessun Dorma and blew the house down?

Francis, Thanks a million for sharing that with us here. I didn't remember his name, but as soon as I saw his picture, I recognized him. Fantastic!

It's interesting that two of the biggest phenom's were also two of the biggest surprises. I think part of the thrill is the unexpected (along with phenomenal natural talent).

How many more are still out there in a myriad of different guises.

Susan also picked a song which seemed to reflect her own life, and which ended up involving the audience in their own pre-judgement of her. So it was more than just the music which made this particular performance such a success. She nailed a whole series of emotional buttons in one shot. Very powerful stuff.

I got the same reaction from watching the audience before she sang and during her singing. The change in them were phenomenal. That old saying, don't judge a book by its cover holds true again and again.

The same thing happened with Paul Potts, except that the song he chose to perform didn't speak so directly to his own life, so Susan took it up another notch. Cool stuff. I hope she wins. I thought her performance was spectacular.

I don't really get the whole "everyone was judging her on her looks" thing...I mean, she came out dropping some pretty cocky jokes, swinging her hips, ect....and she's not very young. If she didn't say much I don't think anyone would have really laughed at her.

That being said, I can't fathom how someone with that incredible of a voice has gone her whole life without turning it into a profession. Broadway, opera, ect....no reason she shouldn't have pursued something like that.

Side note: she really does need to trim those eyebrows.

that kid that played dueling banjos in DELIVERANCE, was a savant. He could play a mean banjo but couldnt even pronounce his own name.

Someone might have already posted this but here is a link to Susan singing Cry Me a River. Scroll down to the video and play it. It looks like the I Dreamed a Dream Video at first but it is Cry Me a River. What an awesome talent!
