A question for the drummers.....

Do you think playing the drums counts as exercise?

I know it seems like a silly question but I'm really curious about the physical demands of drum playing.

Thanks!

Playing the snare drum in concert band isn't very hard, but lead snare in a drum and bugle corp can be tough. Then there's the 8-Tom, 12 cymbal, double-bass drum set at a rave concert, I bet that's tough.

Here's a little kid with the real deal...

can't verify the exercise part, but according to wilco, ladies love the drummers

Wilco - Heavy Metal Drummer

I sincerely miss those heavy metal bands
I used to go see on the landing in the summer
She fell in love with the drummer
She fell in love with the drummer
She fell in love

Shiny, shiny pants and bleached-blond hair
A double kick drum by the river in the summer
She fell in love with the drummer
Another then another
She fell in love

I miss the innocence I've known
Playing KISS covers, beautiful and stoned

Unlock my body and move myself to dance
Into warm liquid, flowing blowing glass
Classical music blasting masks the ringing in my ears

I sincerely miss those heavy metal bands
I used to go see on the landing in the summer
She fell in love with the drummer
She fell in love with another
She fell in love

I miss the innocence I've known
Playing KISS covers, beautiful and stoned

Ohhhh..... Yankee Hotel Foxtrot! I don't need no stinkin' youtube for that.

I love that record but that song always cracked me up.

You don't fall in love with the drummer, you fall in lust with the drummer.

Big difference.

If you asked the drummer in my band, he'd surely tell you so. He hits like an animal. Then again, he's out of shape, and has to take way too many & too long of breaks in between songs which gets extremely annoying.
