I AM TRYIN TO FIGURE OUT WHAT THE QUOTE " A GOOD LISTENER IS NOT ONLY POPULAR EVERYWHERE, BUT AFTER A WHILE HE GETS TO KNOW SOMETHING." MEANS?

Ah, it seems pretty obvious to me - the first part means every bugger likes to talk so a listener will be popular. The second part means if you actually listen, rather than think about what you're going to say next, you might learn something (even if that is only that talker is full of manure).
