I read about this and wondered if it was dadpad (complete with "how much can a koala bear"!!) but I don't think that's him.

I have a photo sent to me, not from the fire but from Adelaide's massive heat wave, of a wild koala approaching cyclists, who eventually offered it water from their water bottles, which it accepted fearlessly, just as the wild koala did from the fire-fighters.

I suppose these suburban koalas have become accustomed to not seeing humans as a threat...but approaching us for water? That's something.

There's lots of photos from the heatwave of koalas fearlessly seeking out water left out for dogs etc....and plonking themselves right into the bowls, and then letting humans pour water over them!

That koala was SOOO cute, her hands were burnt from the fire and she is in a sanctuary, ( what would the place be called?) haha. I guess there is a boy koala there to and there inseperable. Guess they're in love! =)

Koalas don't DO love. Except for babies.

They come together to mate in the season, and separate immediately.

Not unlike a lot of humans.

Sad to say, but the likely reason the Koala let the firefighter give it a drink was probably due to pain and exhaustion. That Koala had 3rd degree burns on it's soles, and is in an animal hospital recovering.

Well, of course it was pain and exhaustion.

Still pretty amazing for a wild animal.

Glad to know the poor thing is recovering.
