We have a family of 5, 3 bathrooms and a hot tub. I have spent 5 + hours reading all of these discussions and I still can't figure out what size of tank to get. I'm not good at math. My water hardness is 26 and chlorine level is 3. We are on rural water. I have 3 young kids and no working softener so I need help fast. My clean clothes are about to get up and walk on their own!! Gary, H2O man, and justalurker---I have read so many of your comments that I feel like I know you!!! ha ha You have been giving great advice--you're so smart--an even saved me from buying a Rainsoft!!! It was a close one.

Hi Jennifer, thanks for the kind words. You should visit the sizing page on my web site to learn all about correctly sizing a softener based on the constant SFR gpm required by your family size, number of bathrooms and the type of fixtures in them.
Then I suggest that you decide if you want to be dependent on a local dealer or to be independent and buy online.
Regardless which way you decide to go, I suggest you buy a correctly sized softener using a Clack WS-1 control valve.
