Deleting clip art from document

How do I delete clip art from a document? I have Windows XP Home, the pix come from the Microsoft Clip Art site, & I use Word 2002. So far the only solution I can devise is copying the rest of the document to another file altogether and omitting the picture. This is obviously not spectacularly efficient.
