Europe needs to enhance its energy security!

Well, I say Europeans may exult after all that Ukrainian authority finally came to senses and went on delivering gas to Europe via the pipe. And yet, in the light of the past gas conflict I must say that I fail to conceive the stand of government of the EU. What do they rely on? I’ve got such an impression that they in Brussels are merely sitting on their hands waiting when everything calms down on its own. And what about energy security of the EU? It is known that Ukraine is just next door to global economic and political crisis! Even some Ukrainian officials don’t discard a possibility of eventual default. In case that happens, what’s going to be with gas supplies via Ukrainian pipelines? No gas again? By no means, no! EU should look after enhancing its energy security, which means that Europe must take over the control of gas transit system in Ukraine! If we don’t do that, than the US will! I say that such a powerful means of pressure upon Europe is much wanted by Washington! If so, then it must be the US itself that is doing much to destabilize political and economic situation in Ukraine ‘cause that’s the way that makes it easy to snatch control of Ukrainian gas transit system! We must do our best to be in advance of the Yankee!
